May Day is a cross quarter, it falls exactly half a year from Nov 1. which is associated with various pagan and neopagen festivals such as Shamhain (festival of the dead or Halloween Oct31)

Apr30-It is Queensday today so everyone is on the streets celebrating. A man came out of nowhere and run over 14 people with his car and ended up smashing into the fence surrounding an obeliks. A low-flying plane, closely escorted by two fighter jets, was spotted over Staten Island's North Shore and New York Harbor just before 10 a.m. The plane, which resembled Air Force One, was a "pre-planned" military flight taking photos of the Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The flight created near-panic conditions on Staten Island and in Manhattan. Many borough residents called the Advance asking if the plane -- which appeared to be a commercial jetliner -- was hijacked. The incident invoked memories of Sept. 11, 2001 when two hijacked commercial airliners flew into the World Trade Center towers.
An Air Force One lookalike, the backup plane for the one regularly used by the president, flew low over parts of New York and New Jersey on Monday morning, accompanied by two F-16 fighters, so Air Force photographers could take pictures high above the New York harbor.
But the exercise — conducted without any notification to the public — caused momentary panic in some quarters and led to the evacuation of several buildings in Lower Manhattan and Jersey City.
